Lozier Finds Some Truth in “The Day After Tomorrow”
In response to the summer disaster movie, “The
Day After Tomorrow,” oceanographer Susan Lozier in the Nicholas
School’s Earth and Ocean Sciences Division, said the cataclysmic
ice age scenario depicted in the movie got the mechanics of
global warming mostly right, but wildly exaggerated the speed
at which it might occur. “Hollywood time is not, obviously,
the same as geological time.”
