The Duke Environmental Leadership (DEL) Program serves as the continuing education arm of the Nicholas School, providing unique opportunities for environmental professionals to hone environmental management skills and stay on top of new developments in the field.
Executive Education Short Courses
Visit DEL online for full descriptions of all courses, and check back often, as courses are added regularly! Future short courses will cover topics including, but not limited to, ecological risk assessment, ecosystem management and environmental communication.
Custom Courses
In addition to open enrollment classes, DEL
offers a Custom Course Program to meet clients’
specific training needs. Instruction can be
provided at Duke or at a site of the client’s
choosing.Recent clients have included Boston
Scientific,The Nature Conservancy, Parametrix,
The Army National Guard and Duke Power Co.
NEPA Certificate
DEL offers a Certificate in the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), co-sponsored
by the Council on Environmental Quality,
Executive Office of the President.This program is
designed for professionals seeking essential
skills in the understanding and implementation
of NEPA.
Online Master’s Degree
If you want to continue to work while pursuing
a degree from Duke University, the DEL-Master
of Environmental Management (MEM) degree
program is a great option. If you’ve already
received your MEM degree from Duke, be sure to
tell your fellow environmental professionals
about this program.
