Dan Kincaid MF’73, is on an intergovernmental assignment from the USDA Forest Service to the West Virginia Division of Forestry, where he is serving as the deputy director for the agency at its headquarters office in Charleston. Dan is a 30-year employee of the Forest Service, having served in various capacities in North Carolina, Ohio, West Virginia, Minnesota, and Georgia. He was most recently district ranger for the Athens Ranger District, Wayne National Forest, in Ohio.
Pamela Bellin Bayles MEM’84 has been living in Wadsworth, Ill., where she works for Weston Solutions Inc., an employeeowned leading environmental and redevelopment firm that manages an emergency response team that has assisted in the World Trade Center, the Space Shuttle Columbia, the Katrina hurricane national responses and in ongoing hazardous waste responses and terrorist response preparedness.
Scott Bachman MF’85 has been promoted to assistant regional forester with the Virginia Department of Forestry. Scott supervises four foresters and four forestry technicians in the counties of Surry, Prince George, Dinwiddie, Brunswick and Greensville in Tidewater, Va.
Aleksandra Dobkowski-Joy MEM’98 and her husband, Christopher Joy, are delighted to announce the birth of their twin sons, Lucas Sebastian and Nathan Alexander Joy, on Nov. 4. Aleksandra is a principal at Framework:CR, a corporate responsibility and financial reporting firm located in Wilton, Conn.
David F. Gruber MEM’98 is coauthor of the recently
published book Aglow in the Dark:
The Revolutionary Science of
Biofluorescence, the story of a
discovery from the marine
environment that has
changed the face of modern
science. Dave is a science
journalist and doctoral
candidate in biological oceanography at Rutgers University
Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences. His coauthor is a
medical professor from Yale, and the book has a foreword by
Sylvia Nasar (author of A Beautiful Mind).
Cary Roberts MEM’99 has recently begun work as a senior environmental planner with Environmental Planning Group Inc. Cary manages the development of NEPA documents, such as environmental impact statements or assessments for a variety of projects in Arizona and the southwest United States, working primarily with projects involving energy.
Gregory Doran Buppert MEM’00 received his JD this past summer from George Washington University Law School.
Sloan Anderson Freeman MEM’00 and her husband, Christopher, have started Geodynamics, a coastal data acquisition/analysis business. Located in Pine Knoll Shores, N.C., the firm offers a full suite of geologic, hydrographic and environmental services related to the coastal zone.
