R/V Melville

This was our last day on site...the last day for dredging, keeping 4 hour shifts, and processing rocks. It officially ends at midnight, at the end of Red Shift (see photo). Late last night the last dredges came in; Mel’s Angels brought in some ‘biology’ and a huge dredge that had to be removed from the dredge bag with a crane (see photos). Breakfast Club (formerly known as Brown Shift) allegedly slept through their last night watch (see photo). By morning the final dredge tally was 53, and Betsy bragged all day about being the winner of our contest (see photo)—she will be allowed to select an item of her choice from the ship’s store as her prize.
