Happy Easter!

What a wonderful beginning to an Easter morning…..pilot whales (a huge pod) came to visit our ship. It was as if they were saying “Pick me, take my picture!”

Thanks to our Easter Bunny, Karen Neely, we had candy, egg dying, and an Easter egg hunt.

Don’t worry, we are still covering our watches on Jason, processing rock samples, and data!

I thought it might be fun to hear what many of our “nubies” (including myself) had to say about life at sea now that we are nearly half-way through our trip. Here’s what they had to say…

Karen Neely – “Rock saws can slice through chunks of basalt and glass, but can’t possibly cut your finger.” And, “Going to bed after breakfast and waking up after lunch is just as good as sleeping at night.”

Todd Ericksen (not a nubie, but great advice!)– “Don’t forget to unlock the (shared) bathroom door!”

Frances Mansfield – “Skipping meals is sometimes necessary, or resign yourself to gaining 5 pounds!”

Annie Zaino – “ Gravity doesn’t work properly during ping-pong games!”

Jess Mason – “Hold onto the railings!”

Jen Laliberte – “ Sometimes a garden hose is all you need!”

Laura Preston – “I can sleep with the bow thruster on the other side of my wall!”

Finally, Scott White is very talented at taking sunset pictures!
