I am interested in the foraging ecology of marine mammals, and how climate change and environmental variability affect these animals and the ecosystems of which they are a part. I have a strong interest in the Antarctic marine ecosystem and trying to understand how changes in sea ice cover and prey availability are reflected in the ecology of predators, including baleen whales. I have become very interested in using suction-cup tags to measure the underwater behavior and spatial ecology of baleen whales in relation to their prey and other features of their environment.
