MP Symposium - Check
One of the biggest hurdles is over for many second years.
Presenting to the Nicholas School community is manageable but only having 15 minutes to clearly communicate what you have spent 9 months working on is nerve racking. Even my non-science topic was challenging so I could only imagine the challenge my 'super' technical colleagues experienced.
The relief just knowing the MP symposium is over has me in a very relaxing mood (some may call this 'senioritis'). What I find most interesting is how the MP will continue to play a role in many of my classmate's professional life after the Nicholas School. When you can use your MP as a springboard into your career, it is a huge benefit and I encourage future students to think about how they can do this.
I won't even start to mention the spectrum of topics this year. I wish I could have listened to more MPs over the two day period despite the exhaustion from consistently processing large amounts of information in only 15 mintues.
As I write this, I am scrambling to finish the written portion by April 25th but the good news is that there is no limit to how much one can write in their MP. I am on page 60 and am just starting to ease into my conclusion...
