On Friday night, I had my debut drumming performance at Baldwin Hall, located on Duke's East Campus.  I have been taking a basic djembe course (West-African drum) through the music department to familiarize myself with an instrument other than the guitar.  It was an energetic concert starring two different djembe ensembles, an Afro-Cuban ensemble and two mbira players, Cosmas Magaya and Paul Berliner (see picture on the right).  All of the ensembles are composed entirely of students along with our teacher Brad Anderson.  The music department offers many classes throughout the year and the music department lists upcoming events on its calendar
