Blogging Instructions
To create a blog entry:
once logged in….
1) Follow the link to “Continue to the Hawaii trip home page…” or click the "Home" button in the left menu
2) You should now see a listing of the published blog entires to date with a yellow/green box around the center column. The top bar will list the choices “actions”, “add to folder” and “state:published” in the top.
a. choose “add to folder” (you’ll have the options of ‘file’, blog entry’ and ‘image’)
b. choose 'blog entry’
3) Give your blog entry a title, description (optional) and body.
a. Be sure to make the title as descriptive as possible (ie, not ‘what we did today’ but rather ‘our exciting trip to see endangered elephant seals’)
b. The description will appear as the first paragraph of your entry and will be automatically bolded.
c. Use the tools in the ‘body’ frame to format your text.
d. If you've uploaded photos you may add them with the 'add image' button (picture of a tree). You can also upload them directly through this interface by choosing any location in the left panel and scrolling down to the bottom of the list and choosing 'Upload..."
4) Click ‘enable’ discussion on this item
5) Click save
6) When you are happy with your blog entry, change the ‘state’ to ‘submit’
a. This will send an email to a reviewer who will look at the entry and either publish it or contact you about needed changes.
7) If you want to edit your blog entry after it has been submitted, you need to change the state BACK to private, edit it, then re-submit.
