Thelma
has been with the Nicholas School over ten years
and has worked at Duke for twenty+ years. A
true blue Duke fan, she and her husband Mike
even have football tickets. Always there to
help students and answer questions, Thelma also
knows the importance of a quick energy boost
and has a ready supply of candy available at
her desk. Thelma's favorite things in life include
her grandsons, Max and Spencer, her granddaughter,
Jennifer and her three Pomeranians named Muffy,
Puffy, and Morgan. In 1997 Thelma received the
prestigious Presidential Award as the Outstanding
Staff Member at Duke University, and in 1999
the students voted her as the Outstanding Nicholas
School Staff Member of the Year.
