Duke Energy
Duke Energy, a diversified energy company
with a portfolio of natural gas and electric businesses, headquartered
in Charlotte, NC, joined the Climate Change Policy Partnership
(CCPP) in October 2005 as the founding corporate funding partner. Duke
Energy is a Fortune 500 company that supplies, delivers and processes
energy for customers in the Americas. In addition to providing
financial support to the ongoing research of the CCPP, Duke Energy
will retain two positions on the Advisory Committee for the Partnership.
MeadWestvaco Corporation
Global packaging company MeadWestvaco Corporation joined the Climate Change Policy Partnership in Winter 2007. With
a presence in more than 30 countries, the company’s research, design,
manufacturing and distribution capabilities serve leaders in the
food and beverage, media and entertainment, personal care, home and
garden, cosmetics and healthcare industries. MeadWestvaco manages
all of its forestlands in accordance with internationally recognized forest
certification standards, and has repeatedly been selected for the Dow Jones
Sustainability Indexes.
ConocoPhillips
ConocoPhillips, the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States, joined the Climate Change Policy Partnership in May 2007. The company has four core activities worldwide:
- Petroleum exploration and production.
- Petroleum refining, marketing, supply and transportation.
- Natural gas gathering, processing and marketing.
- Chemicals and plastics production and distribution.
In addition, the company is investing in four emerging businesses — technology solutions, carbons-to-liquids, power generation and alternative energy and programs — that provide current and potential future growth opportunities.
