Focus on Leadership

As our name suggests, leadership is a driving theme of the Duke Environmental Leadership Program. Through all of our programs -- online master’s degree, continuing and executive education courses and community outreach -- we provide opportunities to develop your leadership capacity in natural resource policy and management.

We believe that leadership is cultivated by each individual and requires time and effort; it is a process. Participation in DEL programs will put you one step closer in your leadership pursuit by providing you with knowledge, skills and tools to:

• Increase your understanding of the meaning of leadership
• Assess your leadership capabilities and leverage your strengths
• Enhance your abilities in critical and creative thinking,
  communication, collaboration and conflict resolution
• Develop an action plan for ongoing leadership development
• Reflect on and resolve leadership challenges in your organization
