A National Geographic Evening to Remember

Dr. Sylvia Earle, Duke alumna, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, and CEO of Deep Ocean Exploration & Research, was featured speaker at a special event for Nicholas School alumni and donors at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C., on May 17. Accompanied by mesmerizing slides and film of her aquatic research, Earle spoke on "Sustainable Seas -The Vision, The Reality." The event was arranged by Nicholas School Board members Gil Grosvenor, chairman of the National Geographic Society, and Pat Noonan, chairman of The Conservation Fund and a member of the Society's Board.
