Sea Grant Names Two Knauss Fellows From Duke University Marine Lab

Corridore and PotterTwo Nicholas School students have been named Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellows. They will spend the coming year learning about national policy-making processes that affect the ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources.

Angela Corridore MEM '01 and Jeremy Potter MEM '03, both in the coastal environmental management program, were selected for the prestigious fellowship that is sponsored by the National Sea Grant College Program. The one-year fellowship, valued at $38,000, places talented scientists in a variety of federal government offices.

Corridore, of Alexandria, Va., is assigned to the executive branch of government, working with the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy. Potter, of Morganton, W. Va., is assigned to the executive branch, working with the Office of Oceanographic and Atmospheric Research, Office of Ocean Exploration.

Sea Grant is a university-based program that promotes science-based solutions to coastal and marine issues through research, education and extension.
