Richardson Named AAAS Fellow

Curtis J. Richardson, head of the Nicholas School's Division of Environmental Sciences and Policy and director of the Duke University Wetland Center, has been elected a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Since 1874, the association has admitted to the rank of fellow those members whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its application are scientifically or socially distinguished. Richardson was honored for outstanding research on the biogeochemistry of nutrients in wetland ecosystems, particularly for studies elucidating mechanisms controlling the storage, release and transformations of phosphorus.
