Michael
K. Orbach, director of the Duke Marine Lab and professor
of the practice of marine affairs and policy, has been appointed
to the Science Advisory Committee of the presidentially-appointed
U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy.
Jonathan Wiener,
professor of law and of environmental policy, in January was
named a University Fellow of Resources for the Future (RFF),
the research institute in Washington D.C. In December, Wiener
was elected to a three-year term as a member of the governing
council of the international Society for Risk Analysis (SRA).
