Description:
The Creating a Sustainable Energy Future Forum will be an exceptional educational experience for not only
academics, corporate, policy, and environmental professionals, but also for the leaders of tomorrow. Thus,
the Nicholas School has invited universities endeavoring in energy curriculum to send student representatives
to the Forum. One to three students from a host of schools will be involved.
The Forum marks the beginning of the Nicholas School’s attempt to broaden the nation’s cognizance
of its impending energy problems and to facilitate the creation of a sustainable energy future by helping
the leaders of today and tomorrow act before the window of opportunity closes. Duke and the guest universities
play a vital role in training future leaders who will need to address these cutting edge issues of sustainability
in the energy arena. Recognizing the crucial role of our students, we want to invite these leaders of tomorrow
as well as the leaders of today.
The Nicholas School aims not only to provide an enriching outside the classroom educational opportunity but
also to begin to build a network for the next generation of energy professionals.
