360 Degree Tours of the Duke Forest: Face Site

View above the forest canopy from one of the central towers of the FACE (Free-Air CO2 Enrichment) experiment in the Blackwood Division of Duke Forest. FACE is a unique experiment designed to assess the effects of elevated carbon dioxide on an ecosystem. Within several of these rings, scientists have increased the amount of carbon dioxide to a level that is expected to be in the atmosphere in the year 2050 - 1.5 time the current concentration.
