360 Degree Tours of the Duke Marine Lab: Research Vessels

The Marine Lab owns and operates the R/V Susan Hudson, a 57-foot coastal ocean research vessel certified by the Coast Guard to carry up to 40-passengers for hire. Other smaller craft are also maintained for nearshore research and education. In addition, the Marine Lab is homeport of the R/V Cape Hatteras, a 135-foot oceanographic research vessel owned by the National Science Foundation and operated by the Duke/University of North Carolina Oceanographic Consortium.
