Paul Parker is a scientist. He has been a fisherman. Now he is the executive director of a nonprofit group made up of scientists, policy analysts, and fishermen working to restore the dwindling numbers of cod fish, and other once-abundant species, on Cape Cod.

Thomas Minter, MEM '09, Interns at Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fisherman's Association
When school let out last summer, Nicholas School student Thomas Minter packed for Cape Cod to embark on an internship aimed at restoring river herring. Once numerous in New England waters, these fish have almost vanished. Thomas will further his work with river herring through his master's project at Duke.
