Thursday morning, before the North Carolina delegation headed to Mile
High Stadium for the convention’s final day, I wandered around Downtown
Denver to check out what’s going on outside the convention hall. There
were protesters, of course, and lots of other delegates wandering around
just like me. But I also found some pretty cool environmental stuff. One
of the coolest things I saw was a fire hydrant that had been made into a
water fountain, with a place to fill your water bottle. I also checked
out an area near the convention where there are exhibits and information
booths about electric cars, solar houses and other issues related to
alternative energy.
I’ll post more tonight, including my impressions of Sen. Obama’s speech
from Mile High Stadium and other stuff that’s happening as the
convention winds down.
