David Palange
David Palange hails from the San Francisco Bay Area, California. He studied
Biology as an undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego
and since then has let his interest in the environment take him far and
wide. Before coming to Duke University, he taught ecology in Maine,
Mexico and Washington DC, coordinated a sea turtle nesting project in
Costa Rica, and worked on marine campaigns for Oceana, Sea Turtle
Restoration Project, and Turtle Island Restoration Network.
David is a 2009 Graduate with a concentration in Ecosystem Science and Conservation. He works as an environmental project manager for ECO2ASSET SOLUTIONS, a professional services firm that specializes in greenhouse gas and energy management. He spent his summer internship developing a greenhouse
gas inventory and reduction emission strategies for the Maryland
Department of Natural Resources in Annapolis, MD. While at Duke, David sat
on the Campus Sustainability Energy Subcommittee and conducted research on environmental quality indicators for the Durham
County Sustainability Office. For his master's project, he assessed the feasibility of using local wood biomass as a renewable
energy source in Durham County, NC.
