Camp Wellstone comes to Durham June 19th-21st

by mike — Apr 27, 2009

The "well"-known activist training training organization is set to bring its skills down to Durham.

A friend passed this notice along to me, and, as I'm no longer residing in Durham, I thought it could be of use to a Nick kid or friend staying the summer in hot, hot Durham!

Camp Wellstone describes themselves as a national center for training and leadership development in the progressive movement. The educational foci of the group are grassroots organizing, voter engagement, political advocacy, and leadership development (Wellstone Homepage).

The June 19th to the 21st series of trainings in Durham will be divided into 3 tracks: the citizen activist track, the campaign track, and the candidate (for public office) track. According to the Wellstone homepage, the 2.5 day training, running from 3-9pm Friday, 9am-6pm Saturday, and 9am-3:30pm Sunday, will combine lectures from highly experienced trainers, stimulating exercises, and interactive simulations.

The location of the event has yet to be determined. Please refer to the website for detailed information in the upcoming months or contact Jen Haut at 651.414.6037 or jennifer@wellstone.org.

And, if you attend the training, stop back and drop a comment!
