Val's Bio

Valerie Cannon

Valerie Cannon is a first year DEL MEM student who is interested in Marine Conservation, Fisheries and Deep-sea Management issues. She received her BS from the University of California, San Diego in Ecological, Behavioral and Evolutionary Biology in 2003. She has worked as a Biologist for NOAA's Southwest Fisheries Science Center, as a Naturalist for the Birch Aquarium at Scripps and deploying Oceanographic equipment across the Pacific Basin for the Physical Oceanography Research Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Val returned to San Diego this summer after living in Japan for 3 years and is excited to get back into the Environmental/ Marine Science scene along the Pacific coast.
