Tim Canavan & Will Fadrhonc

Tim CanavanTim Canavan is a first year MEM student focusing on Energy and the Environment. Prior to attending the Nicholas School, he worked for four years as a venture capital and private equity analyst for a Boston based consulting firm. Tim is interested in innovative and entrepreneurial ways to address issues involving energy and water. In his spare time he enjoys mountaineering, backcountry skiing and sailing.

Will FadrhoncWill Fadrhonc is a first year MEM student focusing on Energy and the Environment. Prior to attending the Nicholas School, he worked for three years as a Mergers & Acquisitions investment banker in New York. Originally from Maine, Will hopes to play an integral part in the state's developing wind energy business.

About the Trip

ENV 298.19 Hydrocarbons: Houston Field Trip

The course is designed to provide a first-hand introduction to the energy industry. We will hear from a variety of speakers and visit the following places:

  • Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Science
  • An oil field with HM Oil
  • Ocean Star Drilling Museum
  • Houston Ship Channel
  • Exxon Mobil (Geo-science Visualization Center and Baytown Refinery)
  • Ingrain (Enhanced Oil Recovery)
  • Element Markets
