Digital Projectors, etc.

by it last modified 2009-08-24 12:08

In Durham, there are five projectors on carts with computers available in the LSRC. There are two projectors on carts with computers available in Old Chem. The computers run Windows XP and have CD-ROM drives with USB ports for flash keys. It is possible to login to your Nicholas account to access material stored on the network. There are also installed AV systems in A155, A156, A158 and A247 in the LSRC that are maintained by Arts & Sciences.

AV reservations for the projector carts must be made through dCal. To borrow a laptop, a portable projector or to schedule a videoconference, please contact Nicholas School IT

The equipment available via dCal is named:

Nicholas Projector-01
Nicholas Projector-02
Nicholas Projector-03
Nicholas Projector-04
Nicholas Projector-05

Nicholas TV Cart-01
Nicholas TV Cart-02

To reserve, simply invite the equipment to your meeting in dCal by prefacing the name with an r, followed by a colon. For example,  r:Nicholas Projector-01. If available, it will be reserved for you. If not, try another time slot or projector. Remember to include your name and the room number in the meeting details.

Equipment must be returned to the AV closet when due. Failure to do so inconveniences fellow faculty members and staff. The requester is responsible for any AV equipment until it is returned. If equipment you reserved is not in the room at the time you need it, do not simply take another, come to Nicholas School IT so we can check the schedule for you and find you another projector or TV.

After using, please allow sufficient time for the projector to cool down - approximately a minute and a half. This will protect the lamp and decrease the likelihood of problems for the next user.
