Videoconferencing
Videoconferencing is available between
Durham and the Marine Lab in Beaufort via any active network connection. Other locations may require other arrangements. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for setting up and testing any videoconference with any outside organization.
Videoconferences between the Durham and Beaufort locations of the Nicholas School can be complicated to arrange as equipment and rooms need to be reserved at all participating locations. You will need to contact staff in both Beaufort and Durham to make arrangements.
It is possible to videoconference scheduled classes between Durham and Beaufort. Interested students and faculty should contact IT as early in the semester as possible to make these arrangements. Requirements differ slightly in that in addition to securing a location, someone from the class in both locations must also take responsibility, after training, for setting up, breaking down and returning the equipment.

In Beaufort
Room reservation requests for which
audio/visual equipment is also
required should be
directed to Dominick
Brugnolotti (252-504-7652). Dominick will identify possible dates,
appropriate rooms available and e-mail
the equipment request to Marine Lab IT. Marine Lab IT will reserve the equipment
and email a confirmation to Dominick
or notify Dominick that the requested
equipment is unavailable and identify
some possible
alternative dates/times. Dominick
will contact the client to confirm
their room/equipment
requests or will further explore
with the client alternative dates/times.

In Durham
In the LSRC, most AV equipment is self-serve and can be reserved through dCal. For more information about using
the projectors, see here. Email Nicholas School IT to arrange a videoconference in Durham. When scheduling a
conference room in the LSRC, allow for 20 minutes setup time prior to start when scheduling a room and sufficient time after to breakdown the equipment.
