Computing at Duke

Information technology (IT) at Duke is designed to support and enhance the university's core missions of education, research, and service. Duke's intensive IT environment follows a distributed computing model and provides a robust conduit for data.

Duke University OIT

The Office of Information Technology website contains computing and communications information for the entire university. OIT also issues NetIDs and administers and maintains the e-mail system.

DUNK

The Duke University Networked Knowledgebase is a searchable database of brief computing help and reference documents that you can use for troubleshooting computer problems on your own.

Duke University CIT

The Center for Instructional Technology is a university-wide initiative focusing on the effective application of information technology in teaching and learning environments. They also administer Blackboard @ Duke.

Online@Duke

This site has been designed for the convenience of Duke University and Health System students, faculty, and staff. From this site you can access and manage your information technology (IT) services and accounts as well as get answers to questions on IT topics at Duke.

Teaching Resources

This site provides information and resources to help faculty teach at Duke, whether planning a course, looking for new ways to deliver material or evaluating effectiveness.

Learning & Organization Development

LOD offers courses in computer technology skill development. These workshops provide Duke employees with desktop application skills from beginning to advanced levels. L&OD also offers customized workshops for workgroups or departments at a reduced rate.

Computing Survival Guide

The CSG is designed to introduce you to the computing environment at Duke and to help you get started with DukeNet, the wide-area network for the Duke University campus.

PARIS (Procurement and Reconciliation Information Systems)

PARIS is a software package developed by GE Capital which the university uses to track purchases made with the Duke Procurement Card for Duke employees.

PILLAR

Pillar is used for budget development and maintenance.

R/3

SAP R/3 is business-application software that will run many of Duke's core administrative processes: accounting, human resources, payroll and purchasing.

SISS

Student Information Services & Systems provides students online access to their personal university records including, grades, class registration, financial aid information and bursar's account information. Go here for information about the PeopleSoft Student Administration System.
