Purchasing Computers
Your primary computer is purchased from your start-up funds. Thereafter, Nicholas IT provides a replacement on a three-year cycle.
The Duke Computer Store is an authorized reseller of Dell, Lenovo and Apple computers. Contact us for help in configuring and ordering your system.

Nicholas School Account
You will be given an account on the Nicholas School servers. Most users use their NetID/acpub login and password for their Nicholas account. The two systems are separate, however, so if you change your password on your Nicholas account, it will not change the password on your acpub account
Data Storage
Your Nicholas account will give you access to a home directory, which has a 10GB quota.
All data is backed up nightly. Although our backup failure rate is less than 1%, we recommend that you also backup data to ensure availability.
Web Pages
The Nicholas School webmaster will contact you concerning your faculty page on the Nicholas School’s website.
