Mapping a drive to nicknet from off-network
These steps are illustrated with a connection made from the OIT computer lab in 01 Old Chemistry. Following similar steps should work on most Windows 2000 and Window XP Pro computers on the Duke network.
Click on the My Computer icon. Choose Map Network Drive.

Choose a drive letter. Enter \\nicknet.env.duke.edu\network in
the Folder field.
Click Finish.

The server nicknet.env.duke.edu will ask for your credentials. To indicate that your are using your Nicholas School credentials, enter your login as NICHOLAS\username. Click OK.

The mapped drive will give you access to your
files on the Nicholas Windows network. Navigate through the home
folder
to get your
personal data.

Or use Windows Explorer to get to class and research data.
