Bio:
I grew up in Blacksburg, VA, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Although I have always been interested in biology, my interest in marine biology grew out of a semester and summer spent at DUML during undergrad. I am now a postdoctoral research fellow at Savannah State University working with NOAA's Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (www.ssufisheries.com). I am continuing my research on larval transport of blue crabs and am developing projects on transport and behavior of shrimp larvae. I am also collaborating on projects focusing on use of oyster reef and marsh edge habitats by nekton. I write a blog called From the Shore that focuses on coastal and ocean science, policy, conservation and education (from-the-shore.blogspot.com).
