Dispatches From The Field

First Days at Ankarafantsika

I'm proud to say that our field team has survived its first days at Ankarafantsika. I've hiked the team across more than thrity square kilometers of forests and savannas in the last couple of days. They're hanging in there and are adjusting remarkably well to camp conditions.

In addition to learning the forests and trails, we've met and talked about the logisitcs and schedules for our field projects taking place over the next several weeks. We all work together on all apsects of our projects, but some divisions of repsonsibility always help keep things running. Chris and Kimberley will work together and lead our conservation education classes in the local schools. Wait until you see the fossa conservation tee-shirts we've brought for the local schoolkids! Boris and Ted are going to help spearhead our biodiversity surveys. They're going to guide you in encoutering some of the amazing flora and fauna of Ankarafantsika National Park.

Keep checking in!
