Haley Houghton

Hello, my name is Haley Houghton. I am a Senior at Marlboro College in Marlboro, Vermont where I am studying Conservation Biology and writing my senior thesis – an exploration of both in situ and ex situ conservation efforts. I have already completed the ex situ portion of my thesis with an internship at Capron Park Zoo where I conducted behavioral research on sloth bears (Melursus ursinus). This summer, along with assisting Luke Dollar with his research, I will also be collecting data for the in situ section of my senior thesis. This is my first trip to Madagascar and my first time as a field research assistant, but I hope to continue my involvement with conservation programs in the future as well.
