Jean Galan, Earthwatch team two

A fortune teller in a little temple on the Yangtze River, "You've had a good life,l you never look back, you'll live to be 104." Two out of three ain't bad, and I'm working on the third. As a child I was encouraged to find out what was on the other side of the mountain- the quest continues.
As an Engineering and Business major I've designed test rockets, managed ballet companies, restored historic theaters, and taught arts administration at the University of Michigan. An interest in drama has led me to teach English in Vietnam, record books for the blind, make voice over commercials, and act. I care for domestic animals in their homes and travel to many corners of the world. I've swum with penguins, eavesdropped on mating elephant seals, and drunk butter tea with Tibetan Buddhist monks. It's been a glorious life, and now I am here- to learn, to grow, and, of greatest importance, to help, if I can, save some of our world's living treasures.
