Mamy Julia Christobelle RALAVANIRINA

My name is RALAVANIRINA Mamy Julia Christobelle. I was born in May 14th, 1976 at Alakamisy/Itenina, Fianarantsoa II. Fianarantsoa is a city in the southern part of Madagascar. I am a Malagasy student at the Animal Biology Department, University of Antananarivo. I have studied the small mammals at the Anjozorobe forest as a field initiation with the Animal Biology Department during my undergraduate career.

I am preparing my DEA (Masters degree) on Environmental Ecology. This year, I am preparing my thesis on the diet of mouse lemurs (Microcebus) in the Ampijoroa Forest Station of Ankarafantsika National Park. Mouse lemurs are a big part of fossa diet, so learning about them also helps us know more about the fossa. I love studying all animals, not just lemurs. Learning about other wildlife is a main reason for my work with the fossa team this year. After my DEA is finished, I plan to continue my studies, doing a doctoral project and thesis, maybe on the fossa or other Malagasy carnivores.
