Day in the Life

5:45 – Wake up and change
5:55 – Face toilet (hold nose)
6:00 – Face breakfast (sixth breakfast of rice)
6:10 – Sign up for morning duty (try not to get chicken duty)
6:30 – Leave for morning jobs (counting species which fossa might eat during trap check)
10:30 – Finish and walk back to camp (2 miles left)
11:00 – Drop onto bench and revive (drink coke)
12:00 – Lunch (more rice but with meat)
12:30 – Sign up for afternoon jobs (try to get nearer work)
1:00 – Siesta (work on journal and read book in shade)
2:00 – Leave for afternoon work (recording information of census and traps)
4:30 – Finish and walk back to camp (only 1 mile left since I got a close job)
5:00 – Drop onto bench and revive (finish coke)
5:30 – Take shower (promise not to look over divider at shower partner)
6:00 – Dinner (this will be my 19th consecutive mean of rice)
7:00 – Movie night (play “Chicken Run” on computer… “I don’t want to be a pie”
9:00 – Get ready for bed (face pit toilet for final time today)
9:30 – Electricity is turned off and I’m out cold
