Belo to Kirindy Mitea
by Luke Dollar
July 23, 2005

We arrived in Belo late last night. Both our trucks made it (barely), but the huge, heavy 6wd camion is stuck in the sand, only 200m from the incoming tide of the Mozambique Channel. So close, yet so far away! The camion driver will recruit around two dozen zebu (oxen) from the local community to pull him out this morning. By midday, we’ll have reached our goal! First order of business will be to unpack, see what materials survived the journey, pitch our tents, and dig our latrines.
