In Kirindy Mitea

July 24, 2005

We made it by early afternoon to what will be home for the next month. The forest, which is one of the few regenerating patches in all of Madagascar, has expanded and grown since we were here in 2001. Another healthy sign for the forest is that all of the team members spotted a fossa sleeping on the road into camp. Super news! In the forest for less than an hour, not even out of the trucks yet, and we’ve spotted fossa! The team is doing a great job getting camp ready for our work here. I’m really proud of them all.
