Michael OttigerMichael Ottiger

Hi! My name is Michael Ottiger. I am 35 years old and living in Zürich, Switzerland. I studied Zoology at the University of Zürich where I investigated the impact of a male pheromone called “Sex-peptide” on the behavior and the reproduction of female fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster. To broaden my knowledge in molecular-biology (and because I finally wanted to earn some money…) I changed from university to private industry where I am currently working as a scientist in a small company doing drug development.

However, in a “back to the roots”-approach I would like to change from the laboratory to the field, eventually becoming a conservation-biologist one day!

Now I am looking forward to taking my first steps into this and being part of an exciting project in the wonderful nature of Madagascar.
