April 9 - "Accelerating the Recovery of the P Impacted Everglades by Altering Ecosystem State Stability"
Dr. Scot Hagerthey, Lead Environmental Scientist, Watershed Management/Everglades Division, South Florida Water Management District discusses his work on the Cattail Habitat Improvement Project (CHIP), which utilizes fire and herbicide application as a means to restore P-enriched cattail wetlands back to habitats more like the historical Everglades communties.
Presented by the Office of the Dean, Nicholas School of the Environment in conjunction with the Student Association of Wetland Scientists (SAWS) and Student Association of Fire Ecology (SAFE).
