Admitted Students Information

Health Insurance

All students must carry adequate health insurance, additional details may be found here: http://healthydevil.studentaffairs.duke.edu/insurance/. Initially, all professional graduate students will be enrolled in the Duke Student Medical Insurance Plan (SMIP). The Duke Student Medical Insurance plan is provided by United Healthcare Student Resources and the policy year will run from August 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010. Should you decide not to purchase Duke’s plan, you may indicate your provider and policy number the first time you enter ACES (see log-in instructions above).  All F-1 and J-1 visa students will be required to purchase Duke’s health insurance plan.

Health insurance coverage is mandatory for all Duke University students and totally separate from the Health Fee. Duke University’s Student Medical Insurance Plan Benefits Summary may be viewed here.
