207. Forest Pest Management. Fundamentals of entomology and plant pathology
as appropriate to understanding the impacts of insects and diseases on forest productivity
and their assessment for integration into forest management. Regional case examples and complexes
are evaluated in terms of pest-population, forest-stand dynamics; economic and societal constraints;
treatment strategies; monitoring systems; and benefit-cost analysis. This approach seeks to
develop predictive capabilities in long-range pest management and decision making. Instructor:
