140. Remote Sensing in Earth Science. NS, QID, R Scientific and technological principles of remote sensing and its application in various disciplines of the Earth Sciences. Principles include fundamental physics of electromagnetic radiation, sensors and imaging systems, and image processing and analysis. Applications include topographic mapping, characterization and quantification of surface processes, water, mineral and petroleum exploration; landscape change and land use assessment. Prerequisite: EOS 41 or 53 or 11 or 12 or permission of instructor. Instructor: Pratson. One course.
