Pre-trip seminars on the tectonic, sedimentary, and igneous evolution of eastern central California. In-the-field studies of range front and low angle normal faulting, Neogene continental volcanic eruption and flows, lower crustal/upper mantle xenolith emplacements, and geothermal energy production Geological tourism of Owens Lake, Mt. Whitney, and Long Valley. Prerequisite: two undergraduate level geology classes or permission from instructor.. Instructor: Malin.
