244. Sedimentary Basins. Relationship between fundamental patterns of basin infilling, regional sedimentary processes and how they interact with global sea level change and tectonics. Introduction to sequence stratigraphy. Key concepts illustrated using computer and laboratory models. Field trip to the Guadalupe Mountains in West Texas. Hands-on exercises using seismic reflection data, well logs, and industry interpretation software. Consent of instructor required. Instructor: Pratson. 3 units.
