Concurrent degrees in Law, Business, Public Policy
and Teaching
Students enrolling at the Nicholas School have the
opportunity to seek joint degrees with Duke's
Fuqua School of Business (MBA), School
of Law (JD), Terry
Sanford Institute of Public Policy (MPP), and the
Masters of Arts
in Teaching (MAT). There is also a joint degree
combining the JD in Law with an MA in Environmental
Sciences and Policy with applications taken through
the Law School.
Students wishing to pursue the JD with the MA in Environmental
Sciences and Policy should be aware that there are a
number of prerequisite courses depending on your area
of interest. If you plan to do the MA with a concentration
in the social sciences, you must meet prerequisite requirements
of microeconomics and calculus. If you plan to do the
MA with a concentration in the natural sciences, you
must meet prerequisite requirements of calculus plus
science courses.
Students enrolled in the joint programs may work for
both degrees simultaneously, reducing total tuition
and time in residence. To be considered for joint degrees,
students apply to both programs in separate applications.
With special permission, it is possible to arrange joint
degree programs with schools other than Duke as well.

Degree Advising pages.
