Thought-Provoking Conversations on the Environment
Based out of Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment, the mission of the Nicholas Environmental Academy is to inspire our alumni, friends and the broader Duke community through environmental thought leadership discussions on issues affecting our planet. It includes lecture series, podcasts and discussions on the Nicholas School’s interdisciplinary environmental academic and research initiatives.

New Series
Oceans@Duke Webinar Series
The Future of Our Oceans is a new event series organized by Oceans@Duke that explores the critical role that oceans play in our planetary systems, geopolitics, local communities, culture and economy.
The webinars share new research-based insights, explore complex and contested questions and ultimately shed new light on how to balance human demands and ocean health.
Dean's Lecture Series
Dean Steelman is excited to announce the inaugural year of the Dean’s Lecture Series. These quarterly lectures are intended to highlight the exciting research at the Nicholas School, and engage interdisciplinary researchers in a discussion around innovative science. Invited lecturers may choose to present a big picture of their research program, or do a Research in Progress lecture – the goal is to share our innovation with our research community.
