For Alumni & Friends
Thought-Provoking Conversations on the Environment
Based out of Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment, the mission of the Nicholas Environmental Academy is to inspire our alumni, friends and the broader Duke community through environmental thought leadership discussions on issues affecting our planet. It includes lecture series, podcasts and discussions on the Nicholas School’s interdisciplinary environmental academic and research initiatives.
Congratulations, Admitted Students
We are eager to show you around campus, tell you about all of the resources and opportunities, and connect you with current students, fellow admitted students, faculty, staff and alumni. We invite you to engage in Explore Duke Environment, a combination of in-person events and a series of virtual presentations, panel discussions and virtual office hours designed just for admitted students.
Oceans@Duke Webinar Series
The webinars share new research-based insights, explore complex and contested questions and ultimately shed new light on how to balance human demands and ocean health.
Dean's Lecture Series
Dean Steelman is excited to announce the inaugural year of the Dean’s Lecture Series. These quarterly lectures are intended to highlight the exciting research at the Nicholas School, and engage interdisciplinary researchers in a discussion around innovative science. Invited lecturers may choose to present a big picture of their research program, or do a Research in Progress lecture – the goal is to share our innovation with our research community.
Leading the Change Speaker Series
The Leading the Change speaker series connects students with the Nicholas School's broad network of alumni and friends to develop well-rounded graduates equipped to enact needed organizational changes to advance environmental and social pursuits in the world.
