Accommodations at the Marine Lab

Dormitories

There are 100 dorm style beds on the campus with approximately 36 beds available for visiting groups. The rooms are furnished and linens are available. All housing is dorm style with common bath (separated by gender). Private rooms (common baths) are available for an extra charge, if space allows. All visitors who stay on the island will pay a per person room and board fee which includes the cost of three meals per day in the Dining Hall.

Meals

The dining hall can accommodate 92 persons and gets great reviews from our visitors. We can provide bag lunches for field trips away from the Lab for boat trips or to local attractions.

The Marine Lab Dining Hall serves three meals a day, seven days a week.* Separate meal packages may be purchased.

Our Dining Hall staff is happy to cater to special needs for breaks, or special functions, outdoor meals, barbecues, clam bakes and other specialty menus (pricing varies with event schedule and menu). Please contact us for further information.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy

A 20% deposit is established at the time of booking for the number of persons booked, based on expected room/board, boat time and facilities reserved. This deposit will not be charged unless the reservation is cancelled. The reservation count may be adjusted one time by up to 20%, until 30 days prior to the arrival date. All reserved numbers and associated charges are final four business days in advance of the scheduled arrival date and will be invoiced accordingly. Fees and deposits will not be waived if a group chooses to cancel for anticipated inclement weather.

In the event of weather related evacuations, weather safety or equipment related issues, all fees and deposits for dorms, dining, and equipment will be waived. All marine operations reservations are subject to safety conditions on the water. It is the responsibility of the skipper to determine weather related safety.

Summer Reservations

Due to the popularity of the summer season (May 1 – August 31) all reservations are “firm and chargeable” at the time the reservation is made. All charges will be for the number reserved and no reduction in numbers is accepted after the reservation is made. Additions will be accepted if space allows.

Boat Reservations

All marine operations reservations are subject to safety conditions on the water and are charged from the booked start time. In the event of weather related evacuations, weather safety or equipment related issues, all fees and deposits will be waived. It is the responsibility of the skipper to determine weather related safety. See rates to use Marine Lab boats during your visit.
